This Privacy Policy explains how Rafał Piekara ("we", "us", "the developer") handles information when you use the Pot Glondach iPhone application and the Pot Glondach Mac application (together "the Apps"). The Apps are built so that we collect nothing: your camera preview travels directly between your own devices and never reaches us.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at rafal@piekara.me.
1. Who we are
Pot Glondach is published by Rafał Piekara, a sole proprietor based in Poland. We are the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the Apps.
- Contact: rafal@piekara.me
- Apps: Pot Glondach for iPhone (App Store) and Pot Glondach for Mac (downloaded from piekara.me)
2. What we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
The Apps have no account, sign-in, or form. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal data to use any feature.
2.2 Information collected automatically
The Apps do not collect or transmit usage analytics, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, or crash reports to us. The Apps do not track you across other apps or websites.
2.3 Camera preview and screen broadcast
The iPhone app uses Apple's screen broadcast (ReplayKit) to capture what is on your iPhone screen while you record with the Camera app. The captured frames are encoded on the iPhone and sent only to the Mac you paired with, over your own local network (Wi-Fi or Personal Hotspot). The Mac app displays the frames and discards them. Neither app records, stores, or uploads the video.
2.4 Pairing data
Pairing uses a random secret shown as a QR code on the Mac. The secret is stored on your iPhone and your Mac so the devices can reconnect, and it is replaced whenever you create a new code. It never leaves your devices.
2.5 Camera access on iPhone
The iPhone app asks for camera access only to scan the pairing QR code. The camera image used for scanning is processed on the device and is not stored or transmitted.
2.6 Local network access
Both apps ask for Local Network access so they can find and talk to each other. No network traffic is sent outside your local network, except as described in section 3.
3. Update checks on the Mac
The Mac app periodically asks https://piekara.me whether a newer version is available (a standard Sparkle update feed) and downloads updates from the same site. These requests carry the installed version number and the technical information every web request includes (such as your IP address). Our web server keeps standard access logs for a short time to operate and secure the service. No account or identifier is attached to these requests.
The iPhone app is updated through the App Store and makes no requests to us.
4. Legal basis
Where the GDPR applies, the limited processing described in section 3 (server access logs) relies on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the update service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Everything else happens on your own devices under your control.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. Downloads and updates of the Mac app are served from our hosting provider's infrastructure on our behalf. The iPhone app is distributed by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms.
6. How long we keep data
We hold no data about you. Web server access logs for the update service are retained for a limited period for security and then deleted.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data about you. Because we do not store personal data about you, there is normally nothing to act on, but you can contact us at rafal@piekara.me with any request or question. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children's privacy
The Apps are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
The connection between your iPhone and Mac is protected with TLS using the pairing secret, so only the devices that share the code can exchange video. The Mac app is signed and notarized by Apple, and its updates are signed so that only builds from us can be installed.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at the address below. Material changes will be noted in the App Store description or the Mac app's release notes.
