Rafał Piekara is a software developer from Poland with 13 years of commercial programming experience, mostly in Ruby on Rails and React. He builds and ships his own apps and writes about programming, shipping software, and developer careers.

What I build

Live products first: Pinji on the App Store, rafpost on the Mac, I Ship This for founders, Uno for Rails teams, and allin.football for academy coaches. Also Wordee, Zeyn, muff, and the rest of the shelf.

What I write about

Rails and Hotwire for solo products, debugging stories, and what 13 years of shipping taught me about careers. Everything lives on the blog and in the newsletter.

Background

I started with Java desktop software, then built for TVs, cloud, web, and mobile in startups and corporations. I created the first Polish Ruby newsletter, taught a Ruby on Rails course to about 40 developers, and today I split my time between a developer contract and my own products.
