This Privacy Policy explains how Rafał Piekara ("we", "us", "the developer") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Morning Word mobile application ("the App"). We respect your privacy and aim to collect as little data as possible — the App has no accounts and no first-party server.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at rafal@piekara.me.
1. Who we are
Morning Word is published by Rafał Piekara, a sole proprietor based in Poland. We are the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the App.
- Contact: rafal@piekara.me
- App: Morning Word: Budzik i Pismo (App Store ID: 6791522337)
2. What we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
We do not require an account and never ask for your name, email, address, or phone number. There is nothing to sign up for.
2.2 Data that stays on your device
Your reading progress, streaks, alarm settings, and verse cards are stored in an encrypted database on your device only. They are never uploaded anywhere and are removed when you uninstall the App.
2.3 Microphone and speech recognition
The App uses the microphone solely to verify that you read a Bible passage aloud. Speech recognition is performed by your phone's operating system. The App does not record, store, or upload any audio. On iOS, Apple's system speech recognition may process audio according to Apple's own policies.
2.4 Camera
You may optionally photograph a Bible page instead of reading aloud. The photo is analyzed on your device to read its text and is immediately discarded. It is never stored or uploaded.
2.5 Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple App Store / Google Play. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases; it processes anonymous transaction identifiers and an anonymous app user ID — never your card details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
2.6 Crash reports
Production builds send anonymous crash reports (device model, OS version, stack trace) to Sentry so we can fix defects. No reading content is included. See Sentry's privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
3. What we do NOT do
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No uploading of your reading, audio, photos, or progress.
4. Legal basis and your rights (GDPR)
Local data is processed only on your device. For purchases and crash reports, the legal bases are performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in keeping the App working (art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, and complaint to a supervisory authority (in Poland: PUODO). To erase all local data, uninstall the App.
5. Children
The App does not target children under 13 and collects no personal data from any user.
6. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in the App or on this page. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
